LIVE MIC – SHOW REPORT! Sunday 21st June 2009
LIVE MIC Sunday sizzle summer spectacular held on Sunday 21st June 2009 at Hackney Empire’s exclusive Marie Lloyd Bar was another successful night. The event combined fashion, music & entertainment by London’s brightest undiscovered creative’s brought together by Xclusive Entertainment. Guests enjoyed a seductive blend of the UK’s most credible musical artistes, spoken lyricists and exquisite fashion designers.
Entertainment kicked off with V-Double-D a fresh female vocalist known for her catchy lyrics and distinguished style. This was followed by RICH BLK the self described “Spoken Word MC” who punctuates a style that is densely poetic, entirely unique and full of word-tricks. ‘Shiikane’, the name of music’s new female group, consisting of twins Shay, Annamay and younger sister Baby K who hail from South East London and share Nigerian heritage sparkled performing their self-written and produced tracks. UK rap was also showcased with performances by Slickmouth and Paplo Ranks. The finale was an amazing performance by Xclusive Entertainment super star – singer song writer Alphonso. Alphonso, the cream of the crop, stole the show oozing passion singing old classics Freak ‘n’ U by Jodeci & Anytime by Brian McKnight along with his own self-written track and an explosive collective rendition with all the performing artistes of the evening singing Boys to Men hit single ‘End of the Road’
The fashion show hosted by Annika Allen (Flavour Magazine) and Marvin Cotterell was glamorous, energetic and sexy. The Xclusive Entertainment models presented everything from chic high fashion designs to artistic and funky creations. Talented designers Hektic Clothing and Blingwear UK unveiled their latest collection in a dramatic themed catwalk parade. Hektic clothing consisted of chic & sexy attire to alluring artistic sleek creations while Blingwear focused on specialised printed T-shirts and custom one off airbrushed garments. After the fashion show guests had the opportunity to purchase the clothing seen and order custom made garments according to their own specific requirements.
The night wasn’t just centered on the fashion show and live entertainment guest also had an opportunity to donate to charity by taking part in a charity raffle. Also guests were able to view an art display and have their photos transformed into oil painting by London’s newest artist “Sister for Design” Geraldine Hewitt.
When the show was over guests “strutted their stuff” dancing the night away to pumping tunes – Rnb, Soca, Afro beats, Funkyhouse, Raregrooves, Bashment, Hip hop, Motown classics, 90s, Revival by “Sounds Of Xclusive” & Sirr Vennom.
The night was definitely one to remember – the music paired together with the creative fashion, incredible entertainment and live performances unleashed the ultimate party experience.
